Among the five countries i like the program of Singapore and Hongkong, but i choose Hongkong because of so many factors and you will know it if you will read it thoroughly. I know it is impossible for our country to implement this program because of so many reasons, but it is still nice to fantasize it.
Why I choose Hongkong?
In 1998, the Government announced “Information Technology for Learning in a New Era: Five-year Strategy – 1998/99 to 2002/03”. The five-year strategy has succeeded in laying a solid foundation for IT in education in Hong Kong. With the Government committed to sustaining the development of IT in education, the Education and Manpower Bureau issued a document to launch a two-month public consultation on the way forward for promoting IT in education. Information Technology in Education: The Way Forward reviews the achievements of the five-year strategy and proposes the way forward to canvass public opinions.
The strategy outlines Hong Kong's aims to harness the power of ICT to turn schools into dynamic and innovative learning institutions, where students can become more motivated, inquisitive, creative and independent lifelong learners.
Key components of the strategy are teacher enablement, focus on curriculum and software, hardware provision and the extension of infrastructure. Teachers will be trained at four different levels to become effective facilitators, guiding the students to play a more active role in learning. The objective is for 75 per cent of teachers to feel comfortable with ICT and for 25 per cent to be competent ICT users who have undergone in-depth training by the 2002/03 school year.
ICT elements will be incorporated in the school curriculum, aiming to have at least 25 per cent of the curriculum taught through ICT by 2002/03. The government will provide schools with a threshold level of hardware, technical support and an appropriate network infrastructure for collaboration and communication between the educational sectors and the community. ICT facilities will be progressively increased and the provision of educational software will be more structured.

The IT initiatives are:
* On average computers for each primary school and 82 computers for each secondary school
* About 85,000 IT training places for teachera at four levels
* Technical support for all schools
* An Information Education Resiourse Center for all schools and teachers
* An IT coordinator for each of 250 schools which should have sound IT plans
* Computer rooms for use by students after nornal school hours
* An IT Pilot Scheme to provide schools with additional resources
* Development of appropriate software in collaboration with goverment, the private sector,
tertiary institution and school.
* Exploring the feasibility of setting up an education-specific Intranet.
when you will read and understand it, then being a future teacher here in our country, you will understand why its nice to fantasize their programs.
